This large country house is the principal residence for a prominent Indian family of two brothers and their extended families. Situated on a secluded five acre plot, this exclusive modern residence has a total built area of over 4,500m2 including guesthouse, service quarters and parking for up to forty cars. The main house is planned around a large triple storey central atrium which runs the full height of the building.

The ground floor is envisaged as a more formal area where guests may frequent, with reception spaces, a large dining room, lounge, prayer room, library and grand staircase. The lower ground floor level is designated as a leisure and entertainment floor which opens out on to a generous pool deck with 25m pool. This basement level has numerous amenities including cinema, gym, spa, badminton and squash courts, wine cellar and cigar lounge. The upper floor is destined as a private family area with separate equalsized wings to the north and south for each side of the family, each containing 2 large master suites and private lounge areas, with central communal spaces such a lounges and dining room for family gatherings.

The overall design features bold geometries with large volumes and significant cantilevers - generating a careful play of light and shade using natural and modern materials - to create a sequence of dramatic contemporary spaces that provides a unique but extremely comfortable home, suitable for both family living and for entertaining guests.
