Client: Sinarmas Land
Building Type: Office Campus
This Office campus is a key component of the 25 hectare Green Office Park complex by Sinarmas Land, in Tangerang District, western Jakarta. SinarmasLand’s own headquarters is also located on the site, alongside the regional headquarters of Unilever, together with amenities such as Food Court and sports and recreational facilities. Designed as a speculative office, the brief called for a building of exemplary environmental standards with low energy consumption and water reuse, in keeping with the rest of the development, and carefully integrated into the natural landscape.
Reaching a maximum of 5 storeys (32m in height), the building cluster is formed as a series of fingers with a maximum overall depth of 28m to allow natural daylight to penetrate each office wing. The ends of the floorplates are rounded to soften their appearance, with setbacks to the lower floors to provide self-shading, and generous terraces to the upper executive floors.
Each block is gently cantilevered and sculpted to enhance natural ventilation and create a dynamic relationship with the site. The building facades are composed of a series of horizontal louvres of unequal spacing to create a gradient effect with facade elements that are wider spaced towards the base of the building, closing up towards the upper levels of the building where more solar shading is required.
Green terraces provide elevated social and study spaces, enhanced biodiversity and visual interest to building occupants and neighbours. Rainwater capture and reuse offsets the potable water demand of the campus and minimizes storm water runoff.
